TBS6903-X DVB-S2X Card

TBS6903-X Professional DVB-S2X Dual Tuner PCI Card

Product Description
TBS6903-X is a professional-level digital satellite TV tuner card with a PCI Express interface. TBS6903-X supports not only normal DVB-S2X/S2/DVB-S QPSK, 8PSK, which is supported by normal satellite receivers, but also CCM, ACM, VCM, 16APSK, 32APSK, Multiple Transport Stream, Multiple Generic Stream, Combined Single Generic & Single TS, which most satellite receiving devices can’t support. With the use of dedicated TBS tools, those special streams can be captured. The two advanced DVB-S2/S tuners enable you to watch TV channels from one satellite transponder while recording channels from different satellite transponders from another tuner at the same time.

“TBS 6903X GSE packets” in the context of CrazyScan refers to a specific type of data packet captured from a TBS 6903X satellite TV tuner card, which can be analyzed using the CrazyScan software to decode and view information about the satellite signal, including details like the program stream, transport stream, and other technical parameters, particularly focusing on the “GSE” (Generic Stream Encapsulation) format, which allows for advanced data transmission on satellite signals. [1, 2]
Key points about this phrase: [2, 3]

• TBS 6903X: This is a model of a professional-grade DVB-S2X dual tuner card manufactured by TBS, commonly used for capturing satellite TV signals on a PC. [2, 3]
GSE packets: “GSE” stands for “Generic Stream Encapsulation,” a specific data format used in satellite broadcasting that allows for flexible transmission of various types of content, including multiple video streams, audio streams, and data streams within a single signal. [2]
• CrazyScan is a popular software application used for scanning and analyzing digital TV signals, particularly for satellite TV, and can be used to decode and view the information contained within GSE packets captured from a TBS 6903X card. [1, 2]

What does analyzing TBS 6903X GSE packets with CrazyScan do? [2]

• Detailed signal analysis: Users can examine the structure of the GSE packets to understand how the satellite signal is formatted, including details like the number of transport streams, video and audio codecs used, and other technical parameters.
• Advanced troubleshooting: By analyzing GSE packets, users can identify potential issues with their satellite reception, like signal quality problems or incorrect settings on the satellite dish.
• Specialized content capture: In cases where a broadcast uses GSE to encapsulate unique data or content, CrazyScan allows users to extract and analyze this specific information. [2]

DTA-2132 High-end Card

DTA-2132 High-end satellite receiver for PCIe

Professional-grade satellite receiver card with high-quality RF measurements.
Ideal for satellite monitoring, modulator testing, and high-speed data distribution.
The card comes with full decoding and analysis of DVB Carrier ID (DVB-CID).

Features

FPGA-based DVB-S2/S2X demodulator (no CPU cycles consumed) with calibrated channel-power and MER measurement.
Supports VCM, ACM, MIS (multiple input streams), GS (generic stream) with access to baseband frames (BBFRAMEs) in L.3 format.
Hardware demodulator can be bypassed to obtain I/Q samples for recording or SDR.

Applications

Creating comprehensive satellite-network monitoring solutions for DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X.
Decoding and analysis of single or multiple DVB-CID signals, even when the satellite carrier interferes with other carriers.
Validation of DVB-S2/S2X/CID modulators.
High-speed satellite data distribution.

Block Diagram

The main path of the DTA-2132 consists of a wide-band L-band tuner, 12-bit I/Q analog-to-digital converter, DVB-S2/S2X demodulator and decoder, L.3 packetizer, FIFO, DMA controller, and PCIe interface. Constellation points are sampled after the demodulator, while LDPC error-rate and other statistics are gathered after the decoder.

A secondary I/Q path is used for multiple purposes: estimating the spectral characteristics of the input signal, DVB-CID demodulation, and sending I/Q samples to a user-space application for SDR, recording, or other purposes. A third path low-pass filters the I- and Q samples and estimates the signal power, corrected by calibration tables.

The DTA-2132 also contains an 18V/600mA LNB power inserter with over-current protection, as well as a DiSEqC-2.0 22-kHz LNB-control signal inserter. Finally, a temperature monitoring unit controls fan speed to keep the board cool.
